Block BRSK – Lib Dem Motion to Dudley Council

by ryanpriest on 5 October, 2023

Dudley Council is set to vote on BRSK’s rollout across the borough following a motion by Liberal Democrat Councillor Ryan Priest.

If passed, the motion will call on BRSK to work constructively with the council to provide better consultation with residents and will force the council to inform residents of their rights regarding opposition to BRSK’s infrastructure.

Lib Dem Councillor Ryan Priest said:

“Nobody is opposed to cheap ultrafast broadband, but BRSK practices have been aggressive and in cases misleading.”

“I have had poles erected in the middle of footpaths, and residents told that they will have poles in the middle of the gardens and drives – it is simply not good enough.”

“The Liberal Democrat motion to council will open a dialogue with BRSK, and ensure that proper consultation takes place.”

Cllr Priest is the lone Liberal Democrat on Dudley Council and will be seeking votes from his Conservative, Labour and Independent colleagues to get his motion over the line.

The vote will take place on October 16th at the next full council meeting.
